Production Team Q & A's

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) of our Production Team.

  1. Q. What is a proof?
    A. A proof is a flat sheet example from the printer of what your print job will look like. The paper on the proof does not match the paper the job will be printed on. A proof needs to be approved by the customer and an approval signed before printing may proceed. Long before we create a proof, we develop initial concepts for the cards that are approved in each stage.
  2. Q. Why do I need to look at a proof if I've already given you everything I need to have done?
    A. We employ human beings to produce your work and, last time we checked, humans are not perfect. Your approval on the final proof is assurance that you have looked over every aspect of our work and approve it as accurate. It benefits everyone if errors are caught in the proofing process rather than after the job is completed and delivered.
  3. Q. Do you offer 24 hour / 7 day Production?
    A. Currently Superfine is running a 24 hour / 6 day production cycle, but when the work load requires it, we do run 7 days.
  4. Q. I would like to to print my publication, but I'm unsure of when the artwork will be ready. How soon will you print once you receive the file?
    A. We would love to say immediately, but that is not possible. Once we receive your artwork, we will produce the proofs within a day and return them to you. At the same time the Work Ticket is produced and the job is placed onto the schedule board. we usually allow 1-2 days for the proof to be checked and returned. Superfine will produce the plates once the proof has been return the same day. Your sales representative is always advised on the progress of your job and he/she will keep in cantact wil you of the progress.
